Dareld Lacey 1931-2017
Dareld D. Lacey, 85, Holton, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, in Holton.
He was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Holton, the son of Homer and Ruby Evelyn Miller Lacey. He graduated from Bancroft High School and had lived in the Holton community for most of his life.
Mr. Lacey served in the U.S. Army after high school and later worked for Goodyear Tire Company, retiring after 42 years.
He was a member of Holton Baptist Church and Goodyear Local 307.
He married Jane Petree on April 28, 1955, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Terry Cooper and husband Rusty, Conover, N.C., and Tammy Gilliland, Topeka; a brother, Larry Bauerle, Vassar; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Katelyn, Kylea and Brandon; and four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Andrew, Braelynn and Zora. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marilyn L. Haire, Dixie Westfall and Lois Lacey; and two brothers, Harold Lacey and Kenneth Lacey.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Holton Cemetery.
