Jeaneane Chance 1941-2017
Jeaneane Chance, 75, Mayetta, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Topeka, the daughter of Roy and Lucille Peters Frey. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1959 and from Topeka Cosmetology in 1961.
Mrs. Chance owned and operated Jeaneane’s Beauty Salon in Topeka and Hoyt from 1964 to 1989. She was also a homemaker and had worked part-time at expressions in Holton.
She was a member of Mayetta Christian Church.
She married Darrel E. Chance on March 27, 1960, in Topeka. He died May 21, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Allison Winter and husband Pat and Lori Eck and husband Ken, all of Mayetta; a son, D.J. Chance and wife Kristi, Mayetta; nine grandchildren, Cliff, Brooke, Ashley, Morgan, Bailey, Chase, Miles, Wyatt and Blake; two great-grandsons, Gatlin and Kooper; two sisters, Mary Lou O’Flaherty and husband John, in Texas and Lani Paramore and husband Jim, Topeka; and a brother, Rocky Frey and wife Patti, in Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be held in Prairie Home Cemetery in Topeka. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
