Paula Oestmann 1955-2016
Paula Jean Kropp Oestmann, 61, Millerton, Okla., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1955, at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Paul and Ida B. Chapman Kropp. She graduated in 1973 from Holton High School and in 1974 from Clark's Business School of Topeka.
Mrs. Oestmann worked for 32 years in the radiology department at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Okla. She also served for two years on the Millerton City Council. She and her husband lived in Topeka for eight years before moving to Valliant, Okla., in 1981, then to Millerton, Okla., in 1986.
She was a member of the Good Time Country Cloggers for eight years.
She married Joe S. Oestmann on April 3, 1976. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Lora J. Waters and husband Ethan, Pace, Fla.; a son, Michael F. Oestmann and wife Kris, Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Ralph Kropp, Bridgeport, Ala.; two sisters, Esther Hall, Denison, and Lois Kern and husband David, Mayetta; seven grandchildren, Atticus, Sophia, Isaac, Natalie and Dagney Waters and Niklas & Lillian Oestmann; and several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, James Kropp.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 23 at Miller and Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Valliant, Okla. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Denison Cemetery.
