Maxine Lundin 1926-2016
Maxine Zula Lundin, 90, Topeka, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
She was born April 9, 1926, in Delia, the daughter of Jacob E. “Bill” and Florence M. Stout Murback. She attended rural grade school in Delia and Mayetta, graduating from Mayetta High School in 1944.
Mrs. Lundin had lived in Topeka until 1961 and worked as a clerk/typist for Topeka Supply Depot and Forbes Air Force Base, both through the Civil Service. She lived in Delia from 1961 to 1979 and was a member of Delia United Presbyterian Church, where she served as elder and church treasurer and was active in the youth group and women's group. She also served four terms as Delia City Clerk.
She moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1979 and was an active member of Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1985, she returned to Topeka, where she was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, served as moderator of the Women's Circle and also served on the Board of Deacons.
She married Erick “Swede” A. Lundin on Feb. 14, 1946, in Holton. He died Feb. 28, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will follow in Mayetta Cemetery.
