Shirley Jenson 1929-2016
Shirley J. Jenson, 87, Larkinburg, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home.
She was born March 7, 1929, in Denison, the daughter of Loyd and Flossie Renfro Coleman. She graduated from Denison High School in 1947.
Mrs. Jenson retired as a bank employee after 26 years.
She was a member of Larkinburg Christian Church.
She married Paul Jenson on June 17, 1950, at her parents’ home in Denison. He died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Everett and Dallas Coleman.
Survivors include two sons, Jerald Jenson and wife Mak Nae, Junction City, and Bradley Jenson and wife Jeanne, Arrington; two daughters, Joyce Peterson and husband Lee, Whiting, and Dena Novak and husband Joe, Shawnee; two sisters, Elsie Fitzgerald, Spring Hill, and Marjorie Todd and husband Clarence, Effingham; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Larkinburg Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
