Demo Day at Colorado Elementary

Mitch McPherson of Topeka's McPherson Wrecking firm, in the Caterpillar excavator at right, got to work demolishing the old Colorado Elementary School on Tuesday, digging out the remains of one of the classrooms after asbestos was removed from the building. Shannon McPherson Jr., who was joined by his father, Shannon McPherson Sr., and a demolition crew in taking down the old school, said work began that morning and is expected to continue into next week.
