Susanna Taylor 1917-2016
Susanna Marie Taylor, 98, Topeka, formerly of Holton, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
She was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Holton, the daughter of William E. and Amanda May Schirmer Stoll. She graduated from Holton High School in 1935. She had lived in the Topeka area since 1962 and previously lived in Holton, Kansas City and San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Taylor worked in the business and insurance office at Stormont-Vail Hospital for more than 10 years.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Topeka and a former member of Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton.
She married James Melvin Taylor on May 11, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz. He died July 3, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Wilbur Stoll.
Survivors include a son, Richard Taylor and wife Nancy, Topeka; a daughter, Betty Real and husband Bill, Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, Doug, Brian, Rebecca and Tricia; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, followed by burial in Holton Cemetery.
