Ernest Hoffman 1929-2016

Ernest Hoffman, 86, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at The Pines Nursing Home in Holton.

He was born July 26, 1929, southwest of Victoria, the son of Conrad and Christina (Geist) Hoffman.

Mr. Hoffman was a farmer, a homebuilder and carpenter in the Victoria and Hays area for 45 years.

He married Dolores J. Leiker on Aug. 24, 1957, in Munjor. She died March 2, 2006.

Survivors include three sons, Tom Hoffman and wife Deb and Jeff Hoffman and wife Myrna, all of Hays and Dave Hoffman and wife Brenda, Victoria; a daughter, Kara Hoffman, Holton; a brother, Leroy Hoffman; two sisters, Henrietta Windholz and Verna Befort; a sister-in-law, Juanita Hoffman; 10 grandchildren, including Landon Bagby and wife Kallie and Lauren Bagby; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria. Burial was held in St. Fidelis Cemetery at Victoria.
