Kinkade joins Holton Hospital staff
William (Bill) E. Kinkade, a physician’s assistant, will join the staff at Holton Community Hospital’s Family Practice Associates beginning Feb. 22, Carrie Saia, HCH CEO recently announced.
“Bill comes to us with more than 34 years experience in family medicine,” Saia said. “We are extremely fortunate to have Bill joining our staff. His vast experience will be beneficial to not only our organization but the entire Jackson County community.”
Kinkade is a retired major from the United States Air Force. He received his certification as a physician’s assistant in 1981. He has most recently practiced in Topeka at the St. Francis Mission Woods Family Medicine Clinic where he provided direct care to patients from infant to elderly.
Kinkade’s past experience is vast, including multiple active duty stations with the U.S. Air Force; diagnosis, treatment and wellness care of patients in rural health clinics in Clyde and Merkel, Texas; emergency room coverage at Stamford Memorial Hospital in Stamford, Texas; and family practice and internal medicine at Hendrick Family Health Center and Abilene Diagnostic Clinic in Abilene, Texas.
Kinkade’s academic degrees include a bachelor of science degree in physician’s assistant at USAF School of Health Care Science, which was underwritten by the University of Oklahoma, as well as an associate’s degree from Butler County Community College.
He is also a member of the American Academy of Physician’s Assistants and the Kansas Academy of Physician’s Assistants.
Kinkade and his wife, Marilyn, reside in Holton and have seven children and spouses and 19 grandchildren.
Kinkade’s hobbies include riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, working on cars and motorcycles, being a Holton Wildcat sports booster and watching his grandchildren participate in their many athletic and other activities.
He also has fond memories of his travels to China, Thailand, Mexico and Alaska. He has also participated in medical mission trips to Honduras and Costa Rica.
