Holton man killed in late Saturday accident

A Holton man died as the result of a late Saturday accident east of Circleville, according to a report from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Tim Morse said Gary M. Swindale, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 11:50 p.m. on 254th Road about two and a half miles east of Circleville.

According to Morse, officers were notified of a single-vehicle accident that occurred about half a mile east of M Road, where a 1999 Ford Mustang driven by Swindale was eastbound on 254th Road.

The Mustang reportedly left the roadway, rolled multiple times and landed in a hay field, ejecting Swindale, it was reported.

Sheriff’s officers were assisted by the Holton Fire Department and Jackson County EMS in responding to the accident, which Morse said remains under investigation.

Swindale was a 2012 graduate of Jackson Heights High School. He was currently working as a forklift driver at SKF Sealing Solutions in Seneca, it was reported.
