Ramona Riederer 1932-2015
Ramona June Riederer, 83, of Holton, passed away Monday afternoon, July 27, 2015 at Medicalodges Jackson County.
Ramona was born June 8, 1932, in Potawatomie County, the daughter of Raymond and Saxon (Holder) Smith. She graduated from Circleville High School. She was a homemaker and farmwife. Ramona also worked for Slimaker Dress Factory, The Holton Recorder and Mercer Funeral Home, all in Holton.
She married Robert Henry Riederer on March 1, 1952, in Holton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a sister and eight brothers.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Riederer of Topeka, Russell Riederer (MaryAnn) of Holton and Roberta Mariani (Richard) of Topeka; and seven grandchildren, Morgan, Anne, Robert and Jake Riederer and Andy, Jonathan and Michael Mariani.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Ramona will lie in state at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton beginning Tuesday afternoon, July 28. The family requests no flowers.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Ramona Riederer Memorial Fund to be designated later for a Scholar/Athlete Scholarship Fund for one student at Holton High School and Topeka West High School, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
