Betty Hodge 1949-2026

Betty Ann Hodge, 76, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at her home near Hoyt.

She was born Sept. 23, 1949, in Easton, Mo., the daughter of Willard and Clara Louise Scott Turner.

She married Herman “Gene” Hodge on March 20, 1999, in Topeka. He survives.

Other survivors include her children, Michael Hodge, Christina Lopez and husband Mike, Sherri Hodge and husband Andrew, Lynnell Hodge and Heath Hodge and wife Kasey; four sisters, Rita Turner, Carolyn Studna, Lucy Taylor and husband Clarence and Pamela Nichols; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Clinton Turner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Ray Hodge; a brother, James “Jim” Turner; and five sisters, Wanda Hernandez, Bonnie Blachard, Judy Knorr, Beatrice Turner and Alice Peek.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial will follow in Hoyt Cemetery. Mrs. Hodge will lie in state at the funeral home after 9 a.m. on Monday, where a visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
