Dana Butterfield 1959-2026

Dana (Adams) Butterfield, 66, of Holton, formerly of Lebanon, Mo., Moline, Ill., and Tucson, Ariz., died Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in Holton.

She was born July 26, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo., to Billy and Frances (Agee) Adams.

On May 9, 1981, she married Kent Butterfield in Moberly, Mo. They lived in the Quad Cities from May 1981 through January 2017. They toured the United States and Canada extensively until moving to Tucson, Ariz., and then Holton.

Dana attended SOLID Christian Church and was active in their ministries and those of Poured Out efforts in U.S. disaster response and fresh water ministry in Haiti and Uganda. She made several mission trips to Haiti and one to Mexico.

Dana worked as an administrative assistant at the Arsenal for several years. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed reading, gardening and most of all, being a loving wife to her husband Kent.

She is survived by her husband, Kent, of Holton; her mother, Frances Adams of Holton; seven children, Melissa, Kathi, Lindsay, Stephanie, Whitney, Aime and Jordan; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; an uncle, Don Agee, Kansas City; and several close cousins and their children.

Dana was preceded in death by her father, Bill, and her brother, Douglas.

Dana requested that there be no memorial service, rather to be remembered when gathered with friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Poured Out Inc., P.O. Box 127, Willis, MI 48191, in order to build a water facility in Haiti in her name.
