Meet Your Doctors: Dr. Jeffrey Warner
Note: This is the 18th story in a series about doctors in our community.
Jeffrey Warner, 37, is a doctor of chiropractic and has owned Glacial Hills Chiropractic in Holton for six years. He currently works full-time as the only chiropractor on the medical staff of the Veterans Administration in Topeka.
Dr. Warner grew up just north of Syracuse, N.Y. in Baldwinsville. He received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience medicine from the University of Rochester. In 2003, he graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, receiving his doctor of chiropractic. He also has a master’s of public health degree from Kansas State University.
“I suffered from migraines as a child and nothing helped until I visited a chiropractor for the first time in high school,” Warner said. “I experienced immediate relief after years of suffering and began to consider chiropractic as a career to help change other people’s lives as well.”
He has worked as a chiropractor for 12 years, with six of those in Holton.
His wife, Malia, is a doctor at Holton Community Hospital. They have five children, Jeffrey, Jacob, Alexa, Bennett and Jillian.
“I grew up in a small town in upstate New York that is similar to Holton,” he said. “We love how people in Holton come together to support each other in good times and bad times. Malia and I wanted to raise our family in a place where our kids would be safe and be afforded every opportunity to succeed. Moving to Holton was an easy decision for us after our first visit.”
Dr. Warner enjoys skiing, fishing, cooking and Civil War history. His family has a dog named Cody.
He’s involved with a variety of organizations including serving as a scoutmaster for Cub Scout Pack 64 in Holton, past president of the Holton Rotary Club, board member for NEK Tri-County Health Department, youth baseball coach and parishioner at St. Dominic Catholic Church.
In the past, Warner served as an on-course chiropractor for the PGA Nationwide Tour. He is an Eagle Scout, and he has an identical twin brother.
Warner said his best piece of medical advice is to “chill out.”
“Life is full of stress, but God does not give us more than we can handle,” he said. “Stress, in my opinion, is one of the biggest factors that weakens the body and leads to illness. Make a decision every morning to smile, eat healthy, be active and serve others.”
