HCH named one of the top Critical Access Hospitals in the nation

Holton Community Hospital was honored recently at the National Rural Health Association’s conference as one of the 2016 Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the country, it was reported.

The Best Practice Designation award, as determined by iVantage Analytics, was given for success in achieving high rankings on the patient perspective index: A rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank on two HCAHPS measures (overall hospital rating and patients that would “highly recommend” the facility).

HCAHPS, or the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, is a survey of services and the level of quality as measured from the patient’s point of view.

Carrie Saia, Holton Community Hospital CEO, said, “We are blessed at our facility to have such a dedicated, caring and professional group of individuals who provide care to our patients and families.

“Our staff are a part of our community,’’ Saia said, “and often know the individuals they are providing care to, which is very reassuring to our patients. I am very proud of all of our staff who are apart of the team delivering care to be recognized for their efforts.”

Holton Community Hospital is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation governed by a seven-member board of directors. Designated as a Critical Access Hospital, Holton Community Hospital, together with its provider group, Family Practice Associates, offers vital health care services to Holton, Hoyt, Wetmore and surrounding areas.
