Equipment now available to rent through Brahma Equipment Leasing

The owners of Brahma Excavating of Holton have expanded their services and are now leasing equipment to northeast Kansans who have a project but not the right tools. 

Donnie Wischmeier, who owns Brahma Excavating with his wife, Nancy, and son, Lance Mannell, said Brahma Equipment Leasing was formed recently to fill a need in the area.

The sister company rents skid loaders and mini excavators, as well as various attachments for both, such as a rotary brush cutter, rock hammer and a tree/post puller.  

“Lance and I have talk about leasing equipment for several years,” Wischmeier said. “We’ve rented out skid loaders and attachments to people in the community in the past. So we decided to make it a sister company to Brahma Excavating. There’s not really any businesses around here that do that.”

Most of the rental equipment is John Deere equipment. Wischmeier said that the business also offers delivery for an additional fee.

“The rentals are available on a daily, weekly or monthly basis,” he said. “There’s definitely a need here for this type of equipment, and I’m available any time and have the knowledge about any kind of equipment someone might need.”

Wischmeier said that the family-owned business can track down larger pieces of equipment, such as dozers, loaders and larger excavators, for customers to rent if there’s a need.   

In addition, the business offers tire tanks made from earthmover tires. Sizes range from five to 12 feet, and they can be set up as water tank for below ponds or spring developments for cattle.  

The Wischmeiers opened Brahma Excavating at 24804 Q4 Road in Holton in 1992.
