County selling several tracts of acquired land

The Jackson County Commissioners are selling several tracts of land in the county that were acquired by the county through recent tax sales.

In a public notice, with legal descriptions on all the properties printed on page 9, the commissioners list seven tracts of land in the county that are being put up for sale by sealed bids. 

These lands were acquired by the county when no bids were received on them during previous tax sales, it was reported.

Bids for the tracts are due at noon on Friday, June 26, at the Jackson County Clerk’s Office, located on the second floor of the Courthouse. The bids will be opened by the commissioners during their weekly board meeting on Monday, June 22.

The commissioners reserve the right to reject any bids that are less than the current market value of the property, according to the public notice.

The properties for sale include:

* A house located at 327 Whiting St. in Whiting.

* A house located at 203 Western Ave. in Denison.

* A vacant lot at 109 Eastern Ave. in Denison.

* A vacant lot at 114 Central Ave. in Denison.

* A vacant lot at Central Avenue in Denison. 

* A vacant lot at 107 Eastern Ave. in Denison. 

* A vacant lot on Eastern Avenue in Hoyt.
