Cobra boys headed to state basketball tournament

The Jackson Heights Cobra boys basketball team qualified for the Kansas Class 2A State Basketball Tournament over the weekend by defeating Troy in the Valley Falls Sub-State Championship game. The photo above was taken after the game as the team celebrated the big victory with their coaches, parents and boosters. This the first year that the Cobra boys have qualified for the state tournament since 2007. The Cobras will play Central Plains (Claflin) at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the state tournament at the KSU Bramlage Coliseum at Manhattan.
