Body found near Mayetta identified; foul play not suspected
An unattended death discovered near Mayetta on Wednesday has been identified as Roger Dale Eubanks, 51, of Mayetta, according to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse. The cause of the death remains under investigation.
Shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, the sheriff’s office conducted a welfare check at a residence located at the 16000 block of R.4 Road, just northeast of Mayetta.
“An employer reported to the sheriff’s office that an employee had not been seen for nearly two weeks and requested the sheriff’s office attempt to make contact with the employee at the employee’s residence,” Morse said in a press release.
Deputies discovered Eubanks deceased near a creek bed approximately 100 yards from the residence, Morse said.
“At this point, we’re not expecting any foul play in the death,” Morse said.
