Holton kids celebrate "Bike To School Day"

Elementary and middle-school-age children in Holton got their day off to a different start on Tuesday morning, meeting at the intersection of Fifth Street and Iowa Avenue for doughnuts and juice before walking and biking to school together. The gathering of more than 40 youngsters was held there in celebration of “Bike To School Day,” a collaboration of Holton Middle School’s KAY (Kansas Association for Youth) program and the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes To School program, which is overseeing statewide celebration of the event.
