Jayna Kasson 1962-2026
Jayna R. Kasson, 63, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.
She was born on March 9, 1962, in Topeka, the daughter of Wayne and Joyce Kasson. She graduated from Royal Valley High School, class of 1980.
Jayna was an incredibly bright spirit who never knew a stranger. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued and loved. Her warmth, laughter and open heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She shared her love and joy freely, and her light will continue to shine in the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her father, Wayne L. Kasson; her sisters, Lori Kasson, Susan Kasson and Kim (Rod) Lister; her children, James D. Kaberline, Kyle (Tara) Kaberline and Mazi (Tyler) Barnes; and her beloved granddaughter, Waverly R. Barnes. She also leaves behind an endless stream of amazing friends who have without a doubt became family through the years.
Jayna is reunited in peace with her mother, Joyce Kasson, along with many cherished friends who went before her.
Her legacy is one of kindness, connection and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held for Jayna at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at the Ozawkie American Legion, 10114 Old Town Trail, Ozawkie, KS 66070. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Jefferson County Humane Shelter in Jayna’s honor.
