Evangel to host dinner theater Saturday
Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton is hosting a dinner theater, “Inspiring the Soul III,” at the church this Saturday.
The event is a fund-raiser for the maintenance needs of the church’s Family Life Center, which is used by a variety of organizations and groups throughout the year, according to Jennifer Pappas, one of the event organizers.
The dinner begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 227 Pennsylvania Ave., and will include cranberry spinach salad, hand rolled chicken cordon bleu with a cream sauce, twice baked potato casserole, honey roasted carrots, white chocolate raspberry cake, cinnamon roll bread pudding or fresh fruit cobbler.
“We have some really special talent also lined up for the event,” Pappas said.
The evening’s entertainment will include inspirational and Christmas music from All Four One Quartet, First Baptist Church Choir, Barb Wheeler, Kaylee Wheeler, Sheri Sanchez and Matt Johnson, Sherri Bartel, Trish McAllister, Cynthia Coufal, Alexis Sanchez and Shannon Witmer and Don McDaniel. Several readings will be held throughout the event as well.
Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance at the EUM Church office, (364-3834), Denison State Bank or Ginger Snips (364-3069). The event is being limited to the first 200 ticket holders, it was noted.
The dinner theater is held every other year by the church to raise funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the Family Life Center building and the church.
