The tree, a huge ash, reportedly fell victim to the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive beetle from eastern Russia and northeastern Asia that is now feasting on many ash trees in North America. Shayne Mick, also of Mick’s Tree Service, said it probably won’t be long before all of the ash trees in Holton are destroyed by the EAB. (Photo by David Powls)
