HHS students, State Farm team up for Bucks For Buckles

If you were driving in Holton on Friday morning, Sept. 5, with seat belts on and stopped at the northwest corner of Holton’s Town Square, you may have seen Holton High School juniors Marley Gilliland (left) and Kinley Fluke (right) handing you a dollar for being buckled up for safety. They and other HHS students were participating in the annual “Bucks For Buckles” promotion, a joint effort of Safe Kids Kansas, State Farm Insurance and the Kansas Department of Transportation promoting seat belt use. Those wearing their seat belts received a dollar, while those caught without their seat belts on received educational materials about the effectiveness of seat belt use. (Photo by Brian Sanders)
