Whitakers to celebrate golden anniversary

Bob and Vicki Whitaker of Manhattan will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Friday, July 19, with a card shower and family retreat at Clover Cliff Ranch.

Bob Whitaker and Vicki Clark were married on July 19, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church chapel in Fredonia by the Rev. George Almquist. Attendants were the late Charles and Ginger Clark.

Bob is the son of the late Floyd and Betty Whitaker. Vicki is the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred Clark.

The couple has two daughters, Julie Myers and her husband, Larry, of Concordia, and Amber Coe and her husband, Konrad, of Soldier. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Whitakers have resided in various places in Kansas, including Soldier and Holton.

Bob is a retired United Methodist Church minister. He is currently serving at St. Marys, Emmett and Belvue churches. Vicki is a retired early childhood consultant/compliance monitor.
