Todds wed 65 years
Clarence and Marjorie Todd of Effingham celebrated 65 years of marriage on Aug. 11 with a family gathering.
Clarence Todd, son of Robert and Clarice Todd, and Marjorie Coleman, daughter of Loyd and Flossie Coleman, were married on Aug. 11, 1951, at the home of the bride’s parents in rural Denison by the Rev. Archie Ross. Matron of honor was Marjorie’s sister, Elsie Robb Fitzgerald. Best man was the late Roger Will.
The couple has three children, David Todd and his wife, Elizabeth, of Effingham; Diane Kiehl and her husband, Kevin, of Horton; and Allen Todd and his wife, Wendy, of Manhattan. They also have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The couple’s first home was on a family farm near Denison. They resided most of their married life in Effingham.
Clarence is a retired teacher and Marjorie is a retired school secretary for Atchison County Community Schools USD 377.
