Thurman-Akin

Jenna Thurman of Hoyt, daughter of Lisa and the late Mark Thurman of Mayetta, and Jacob Akin of Hoyt, son of Steve and Bernie Akin of St. Marys, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. 

The future bride is a graduate of Royal Valley High School and Kansas State University where she received her bachelor of science degree in agricultural education. She also received an associate’s degree from Allen Community College. 

The bride-to-be is currently the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Centralia High School. 

The future groom is a graduate of Silver Lake High School and the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. He is currently employed by the Washburn University Police Department. 

Jenna’s grandparents are Mary Swift of Goff, the late Jack Ehrhart of Mayetta and the late James and Sandra Thurman of Lyndon. 

Jacob’s grandparents are the late Jim and Joanne Stadler of Silver Lake and the late Elmer and Pauline Akin of Rossville. 

The couple will be married on June 18, 2022.
