Amy and Matthew Longren of Lawrence are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Ann Longren, to Markus Lisske, son of Ramona and Thomas Lisske of Bernsbach, Germany.
The prospective groom’s grandparents are Liesbet and Rudi Unasch and Gerda and Siegfried Lisske, all of Germany.
The bride-to-be’s grandparents are Berdelle and Ken Boobar of Great Falls, Mont., and Mary and Paul Longren of Westmoreland.
The future bride graduated from Lawrence Free State High School and is pursuing a degree in international business management from The Berlin School of Economics and Law while working as an English teacher and translator.
The future groom, a graduate of Clemens-Winkler-Gymnasium Aue, is finishing his bachelor’s degree in political science and law from Friedrich Schiller University and will work for a consulting agency in Berlin while pursuing his master’s degree next year.
Rachel attended Jackson Heights High School during her third through sixth grades, when her family lived in rural Soldier.
