Gene and Shirley Wells to celebrate 50th anniversary

Gene and Shirley Wells will celebrate their 50^th anniversary on Sept. 5.

Shirley Mercer of Netawaka and Gene Wells of Syracuse were married on Sept. 5, 1971, at the Netawaka United Methodist Church.

They are retired and are enjoying doing things together on their little farm.

Gene and Shirley will celebrate with a family get-together in late August. They have three grown children, Angela Wells of Minneola, Kayla Wells of Beeville, Texas, and Justin Wells of Lakin. They have one grandson, Kyle.
