Brown-Korte

Lauren Elizabeth Brown of Olathe and Zachary Wilson Korte of Lawrence were married at 5 p.m. on June 4 at the Compton Estate in Lawrence.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Doug S. Brown of Olathe, Kent and Diane Fry of Lawrence and Greg and Debbie Korte of Ottawa.

Grandparents of the bride are Barbara and Dennis Hutchinson of Circleville, George and Jan Brown of Alma and Bill and Karen Meares of Lenexa.

The Rev. Jarred Harnden officiated at the wedding.

Furnishing the wedding music for the ceremony was guitarist David Earnes. Serving as the gift attendant and attending at the guestbook were Mindy Fry and Christie Spencer.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white strapless wedding gown with detailed beading and tulle.

Maids of honor were Kaylee Thibault of Lenexa and Miranda Gilmore of DeSoto.

Bridesmaids were Alex Milbourn of Leawood; Taylor Sullivan of Olathe; Libby Landers of San Diego, Calif.; and Jenna Carrier of Topeka. They wore strapless blush-colored dresses with tulle detailing.

The ring bearer was Denton Callanan, nephew of the bride, and he wore khaki pants, a white shirt and suspenders. There were no candle lighters.

Best men were Derek Korte of San Francisco, Calif., brother of the groom; and Parker Liebl of Lawrence, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Spencer Brown of Kansas City, brother of the bride; Jason Fry of Lawrence, brother of the groom; Adam Fry of Lawrence, brother of the groom; and Zach Naasz of Kansas City, friend of the groom.

The wedding reception was held in the guesthouse and was a catered buffet meal of Kansas City burnt ends, brisket and salads.

The wedding cake table consisted of a four-tier cake and mini cake shooters from Cami Cakes of Eudora. It was attended by Georgia Flood of Hesston, aunt of the bride; and Lori Spencer of Topeka, aunt of the bride.

Toasts were given by bridesmaids Kaylee Thibault and Miranda Gilmore and groomsmen Derek Korte, Parker Liebl and Spencer Brown.

A blessing was given by the bride’s father, Doug S. Brown, of Olathe. The DJ for the event was Ashton Martin. Significance was the replicas of the KU Jayhawk and other memorabilia. The bride and groom both graduated in 2013 from The University of Kansas with a bachelor of arts degree in education and a bachelor of arts degree in business.

Lauren is a first-grade teacher at Heatherstone Elementary in Olathe and Zack works for Aerotransportation Products.

Lauren graduated from Olathe Northwest High School, and Zack graduated from Free State High School in Lawrence. Zack was a member of Sig Ep fraternity, and Lauren was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.
