Funds being collected for Ukele family

A local fund raising drive is under way to help benefit the Ukele family of Sabetha, it has been announced by Justin Brandt of Holton. Brandt spent time Friday delivering flyers about the fund raising drive to many businesses in the community.

Tanner and Carson Ukele, members  of the Sabetha High School football team, lost their mother, their sister and an uncle in a tragic head-on collision that occurred Satuday, Nov. 25, north of Holton on U.S. Highway 75, just hours after the Bluejays won the Class 3A State Football Championship.

The Ukele brothers’ dad was also seriously injured in the same accident.

Monetary donations can be made to the Ukele Memorial Fund and Tanner and Carson Ukele Education Fund Fund at the three local banks – The Farmers State Bank, Denison State Bank and Holton National Bank.

Monetary donations from this community can also be mailed to Popkess Mortuaries, 823 Virginia St., Sabetha, KS., 66534, Make checks out to Ukele Memorial Fund and Tanner and Carson Ukele Education Fund.

Other communities in the Big Seven League have also been raising funds to help benefit the Ukele family.

During this Christmas season, perhaps this is a local benefit that we all can help with. Brandt said all funds collected will benefit the Ukele family.
