Elected officials: Let them know your views
We often hear from our elected state officials that they are voting for or against various measures at the Legislative Session because of comments and opinions they have heard and received from their constituents.
And that, in a nutshell, is how representative democracy works best.
When constituents have opportunities to visit with their elected state officials face to face they should take full advantage of those opportunities.
This coming Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Holton at the Hutchins Building, located on the west side of the Town Square, local constituents will have such an opportunity as the Chamber of Commerce will host its annual legislative forum.
Present to field questions and hear comments from local constituents will be State Sen. Dennis Pyle (R-Hiawatha), State Representative Becky Hutchins (R-Holton) and State Representative Randy Garber (R-Sabetha).
In order for our elected state officials to represent us, they must know our opinions. Make plans now to attend the legislative forum.
