William Rieschick 1932-2016
William C. Rieschick, 84, Topeka, died Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born Jan. 8, 1932, at Soldier, the son of Ernest and Marguerite Hanna Rieschick.
Mr. Rieschick farmed in the Bucks Grove and Soldier area. He later worked for many years at Thompson Dehydrator in St. Marys and then as a welder for the Topeka Foundry. He retired in 1999.
He married Verla I. Loughmiller on Oct. 9, 1955, at Havensville Christian Church. They divorced.
Survivors include a son, Mark Rieschick, Sioux City, Iowa; three daughters, Brenda Rieschick and Lisa Rieschick, both of Topeka, and Judy Schurle and husband Richard, Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Wayne Rieschick; a brother, Robert Rieschick; and a sister, Lorene Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Bucks Grove Cemetery west of Holton. Mr. Rieschick will lie in state at the funeral home, where family and friends will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
