William Dean

William “Bill” Roy Dean, 73, passed away July 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.

William was born in Atoka, Okla., to Leona Watkins and Valtion Dean. He moved to California at an early age and attended Caruthers High.

He married Patricia (Patti) Ewing on Sept. 12, 1969. After the birth of their first child they moved to Goff in 1972. 

William worked for Mid AM in Sabetha for more than 37 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, with the horses, fishing and raccoon hunting. 

William is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patti; daughter Chasity Uhl of Goff; son Austin (Rachel) Dean of Corning; grandsons Walker and Wyatt Uhl of Goff; three sisters, Ann (Larry) Kirkendoll, Virginia Dean and Donna Silveira, all of Fresno, Calif.; plus many nieces, nephews and cousins also in California.

William was preceded in death by his parents Leona (2016) and Valtion (1998); brothers Alton (1957) and Robert (1961); and sons Clayton (1993) and Ashley (1981).

Cremation is planned with no services as he requested.
