Vivian McGuire 1945-2016
Vivian Gail McGuire, 70, Denison, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born June 14, 1945, in Springfield, Mo. the daughter of Lester Thomas and Lucille Poole Fox. She grew up and graduated from high school in Springfield, Mo., in 1963.
Ms. McGuire moved to Sacramento, Calif., where she lived until 2000, working and retiring from Sutter Memorial Hospital as a dietician assistant. She moved to Denison in 2000 and worked for Prairie Band Casino as a cook.
She married Joseph Frederick McGuire in Sacramento, Calif., in 1965. They later divorced.
Survivors include a son, Michael T. McGuire, Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Laura K. Coop, Denison; four grandchildren, Phillip Coop and wife Brittiny, Marissa Coop, Sean Coop and Mikayla Coop; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Eli Coop; and two nephews, Don LaMastus and wife Sue, Holton, and Ron LaMastus and wife Tanya, Roxbury. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara K. LaMastus; and a brother, John L. Fox.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Sacramento, Calif.
