Virginia Gilsdorf 1952-2019
Virginia Ruth Gilsdorf, 67, Onaga, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She was a longtime resident of the area.
She was born Jan. 4, 1952, in Kansas City, the daughter of Gerald and Gladys Shultz Sperry. She attended local schools and graduated from high school in Kansas City, Mo., in 1970. She then attended school to become a dental assistant.
Mrs. Gilsdorf was a homemaker and farm wife, helping with the family operation east of Onaga.
She was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Onaga Weightlifting Club.
She married Robert Eugene Gilsdorf on April 27, 1985, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include her children, Emma Schreiber and husband Luke, Soldier, and Josh Gilsdorf, Guthrie, Okla.; her grandchildren, Eleanor, Lincoln, Levi and Evelyn; and a half-brother, John Sperry. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Onaga, with Pastor Eugene Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Onaga City Cemetery. Family will greet friends at a luncheon at the church following graveside committal.
