Tony DeBarge 1958-2017
Louis Anthony “Tony” DeBarge, 58, of Holton, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 6, 1958, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Donald Anthony DeBarge and Norma June (Riley) Roberts.
Tony graduated from Holton High School in 1977 and had lived most of his life in Holton. He worked for 30 years at Logan Business Machines in Topeka, only retiring because of his health. Tony also belonged to the Monday Night Guys for more than 20 years.
Tony married Salena Elizabeth (Sally) Florence on July 16, 1983, in Holton. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his father, Donald DeBarge of Topeka; two sons, Dustin DeBarge (Sabrina) of San Antonio, Texas, and Travis DeBarge (Brittany) of Holton; three granddaughters, Alarie, Janie and Natalie; a sister, Lynn Belt of Morganton, N.C.; a brother, Scott DeBarge (Cathy) of Holton; a stepbrother, Paul White (Susan) of Hoyt; a stepsister, Lori MacAdam (Dave) of Augusta; and his father and mother-in-law, George and Betty Doss of Overbrook.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Roberts; his stepdad, John Roberts; his stepmom, June DeBarge and his father-in-law, Joe Florence.
A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
