Thomas Hopper 1948-2019
Thomas S. Hopper, 71, Hoyt, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at his home.
He was born Aug. 15, 1948, in Alabama, the son of Charles and Vesta Buckalew Hopper. He graduated from Duarte High School in Duarte, Calif.
Mr. Hopper worked at various jobs, including as a security guard at Harrah’s Prairie Band Casino and at Sac and Fox Casino, Pony Express in Topeka, Enterprise Car Rental in Council Bluff, Iowa, and for the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department.
He married Virginia L. Schultz on May 25, 2003, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Gary Hopper and wife Hilda, Holton, and Steven Hopper, in California; two daughters, Allison Hopper and Nicki Hopper, both in California; a stepson, Lance Schultz, and a stepdaughter, Danette Hanley, both of Hiawatha; three brothers, Robert Hopper, Reno, Nev., and Kenneth Frank Hopper Sr. and wife Maria and Michael Hopper, all in California; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Hopper and Gary Hopper.
Cremation is planned and no services are scheduled. Inurnment will be held later in Alabama.
