Thelma Bohnenkemper 1937-2021

Thelma L. Bohnenkemper, 83, of Denison, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021, at her home.

She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Banner, Ark., the daughter of Leonard Lee and Lela Eugene (Daniels) Trundle.

Thelma graduated from Wetmore High School in 1955. She was a library assistant at Colorado and Central schools and worked for Walmart, both in Holton, for many years.

She was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church and a Jackson County Friends of Hospice volunteer.

Thelma married Carl E. Bohnenkemper on July 17, 1955, in Wetmore. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2015, after 60 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Claude and Richard Trundle.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Long (Carl) of North Richland Hills, Texas, Mark Bohnenkemper (Laura) of Topeka and Marcia Rucker of Topeka; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19 at the Denison Cemetery.
