Sheila Lorraine Dodd, 64, of Holton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at her home with family by her side.

She was born May 10, 1958, in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., the daughter of George B. and Henrietta (Teeter) Smith.

Sheila attended Lansing High School. She had lived in the Holton community since 1991 and previously in Port Orchard, Wash., for four years.

Sheila was a proud military wife. She also worked for Casey’s, making donuts, and at Vintage Park as housekeeper. She was a member of SOLID Christian Church in Holton. Sheila was a loving wife and mother and her “pride and joy” were her five grandchildren. During the summers, Sheila and her husband Michael enjoyed RV’ing and camping at multiple locations. A hobby and passionate interest was decorating and caring for her home.

She married Michael T. Dodd on Dec. 14, 1974, in Leavenworth; they celebrated more than 47 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Dodd, of the home; son, William Dean Dodd (Katie) of Holton; daughter, Brandy Armstrong (Steve) of Waynesville, N.C.; two sisters, Tina Smith and Christina Smith, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Kim Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and five grandchildren, Thomas Michael Dodd, Zachary Allen Armstrong, Tucker Dean Dodd, Hannah Lorraine Armstrong and Roselyn Malena Lemus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Henrietta Smith; sister, Wesley “Babes” Worley; and two brothers, Wendell and Vernon Smith.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at SOLID Christian Church in Holton. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
