Sandra Fisher 1951-2016
Sandra Kaye Fisher, 65, Topeka, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1951, in Topeka, the daughter of Sam Andrew and Louise Maines Fleming.
Ms. Fisher retired from the U.S. Coast Guard on May 13, 2013, after 28 years and nine months of service. She had worked at Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center.
Survivors include two children, Jason Thomas Fisher, Topeka, and Teresa Louise Fisher, Seattle, Wash.; and three siblings, Ronald D. Fleming, Arleigh G. Fleming and Debra A. Fleming, all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment will be held in Shipshee Cemetery, Mayetta. Ms. Fisher will lie in state after 3 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral chapel, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
