Sandi Nott 1942-2017
Sandra K. “Sandi” Nott, 75, of Holton, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at Medicalodges in Holton.
Sandi was born May 22, 1942, in Havensville, the daughter of Clarence A. and Isla Winona (Bottom) Nott. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1960. She graduated from Washburn University with her teaching degree in 1965, later completing her Master’s Degree.
Sandi was a Physical Education and Health teacher at Stagg High School in Stockton, Calif., from 1965 to 1969. She returned to Kansas City and got her Cytology certificate from the University of Kansas in 1970. Sandi moved back to Stockton where she resumed her teaching career and began her employment with San Joaquin General Hospital as a Cytologist. All in all, she taught for 34 years, retiring in 2002. Sandi was a member of the Christian Church.
Sandi is survived by her sisters, Lois Nissen of Wetmore, Rose Honeyman of Topeka, Karen Coffman, Milford, and Thelma Brown of Holton; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Sharon DeCicco and Judy Marx, both of Stockton, Calif.; and her caregiver/companion, Suzie Shively of Wamego.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Florene May Nott and Betty Christian; brothers, Claude, Kenneth, Tommie and Clarence A. “Jay” Nott Jr.; and nieces and nephews, Tina Nissen, Edwina Nott-Collins, Shawn Coffman, Wayne Nott and Kirk Nott.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. She will lie in state beginning Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be held in Wetmore Cemetery at a later date.
