Rosemary Young 1967-2021
Rosemary Ann Young “Wah-sash-mo-quah,” 53, of Fairland, Ind., passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021, at a hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.
She was born Sept. 7, 1967, in Milwaukee, Wisc., the daughter of Gene Olp and Mary L. Young. She was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.
Rosemary had lived in Ohio where she graduated from Orrville High School in 1985 and had attended Akron University. She had been in Indiana for more than 20 years. Rosemary was very talented. She loved sewing, crocheting and raising chickens. She was an amazing cook and baker.
Rosemary is survived by her mother, Mary Young of Mayetta; her sister, Carrie “Dolly” Black (Gary); her brothers, Warren “Sha Nosh,” Edwin “M-shuc-qeah,” Gary Olp (Amy King), Dale Olp (Darlynn) and Alan Olp; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Gene and Pat Olp; and her sister, Gale Boggs.
Private family burial will be held in Shipshee Cemetery west of Mayetta at a later date.
