Rick Eastwood 1959-2019

Ricky R. “Rick” Eastwood, 59, of Horton, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, in Topeka after a battle with larynx cancer.

He was born Nov. 16, 1959, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Gene M. and Nancy “Rosella” Coon Eastwood. He attended Holton High School. He had lived in the Horton community for more than 20 years and previously lived in Holton and Olathe.

Mr. Eastwood worked for American Walnut in St. Joseph, Mo., Baum Motors in Holton, Clark Chevrolet in Holton and Strube Monument in Holton. Most recently he worked at Wilde Tools in Hiawatha. He was also self-employed in detailing cars for many years.

Survivors include his common-law wife, Deborah S. “Deb” Harms, of the home; a brother, Jeff Eastwood and wife Amy, Liberty, Mo.; two stepsons, Matthew Pilant, Topeka, and Kyle Pilant, Overland Park; two stepdaughters, Amber Pilant and Kimberly Tjelmeland, both of Topeka; and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Rosella Eastwood; and two brothers, Randy D. Eastwood and Christopher A. Eastwood.

Memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at  Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mr. Eastwood’s family requests friends and family wear their favorite Chiefs shirt.
