Ray LaMastus 1930-2015
Ray LaMastus, 84, Denison, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Cedar Village in McPherson.
He was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of John and Jewel Neighbors LaMastus. He had lived in the Denison community since 1993 and previously lived in Culver.
Mr. LaMastus was an over-the-road truck driver.
He married Barbara Kay Fox on Oct. 22, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo. She died June 30, 2014. He also was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary, Bennie, Nevera and Nina LaMastus; and six brothers, Sam, Ernest, Earl, Shirley, Billy and James LaMastus.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie L. LaMastus and wife Tanya, Roxbury, and Donald LaMastus and wife Sue, Holton; a sister, Carol Schadler, in Missouri; a brother, Bennie LaMastus, in Ohio; five grandchildren, Kristine LaMastus, Ryan LaMastus and wife Hayley, Kyle LaMastus, Cody LaMastus and Chris Morr; and three great-grandchildren, Shane Miller and Alyssa and Brayden LaMastus.
Celebration of life services will be held at 6 p.m. today at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be held in Culver Cemetery at a later date.
