Quentin Spiker 1934-2016
Quentin B. Spiker, 82, Horton, formerly of Holton, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born March 23, 1934 in Granada, the son of Ivan W. and Elva G. Kerr Spiker.
Mr. Spiker worked for Topeka Metal Specialty as a shop foreman and as a supervisor at BMB in Holton. He later owned and operated Central Engine Rebuilders with his brother Ivan in Holton.
He married Rebecca Rose Davis on May 20, 1956, in Granada. She died June 28, 2003. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Frances Spiker and Leah Fern Petersen; and a brother, Ivan Spiker.
Survivors include a son, Bryan Spiker, Hiawatha; a daughter, Coleen Spiker-Wilson and husband Steven, Mount Joy, Pa.; two sisters, L’Wanda Brungardt and husband Marvin, Topeka, and Loyola Holt-Ritenour and husband Gerald, Holton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Granada Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
