Pearl R. “Becky” Carr 1936-2018

Pearl R. “Becky” Carr, 82, Topeka, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, in Topeka.

She was born June 30, 1936, in Scott City, the daughter of Walter and Velma Yoder. She attended grade school in Scott City and graduated from eighth grade, then moved to Winona, where she lived with her grandmother Gaylor and attended high school, graduating from Tri Planes in 1954.

Mrs. Carr worked as a nurse’s aide at Oakley Manor, secretary for the Christian Church in Oakley, taught ceramics in Oakley and worked for the IRS in Ogden, Utah, where she retired. She returned to Kansas after her retirement.

She married Albert R. “Johnny” Carr in 1954.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Carr, Hiawatha, and Rodney Carr and wife Dorothy, Netawaka; a daughter, Dedra McKinnon and husband Bobby, Clanton, Ala.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Harvey, Dwayne and George.

Mrs. Carr was cremated, and no services were requested. Burial will be held at a later date in Scott City Cemetery.
