Paul Ray 1940-2019

Paul Lee Ray, 78, Mayetta, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

He was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Holton, the son of Avery L. and Mildred M. Martin Ray. He attended Bell Country School southwest of Mayetta and graduated from Mayetta High School in 1958.

Mr. Ray was a lifelong member of the Mayetta community as a farmer and stockman.

Survivors include his caretaker, Eldon Darnell and wife Judy, Mayetta; a sister, Joyce Stanford, in Georgia; a brother, Elroy Ray, St. Joseph, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Jean Peters, Erma Miller and Marjorie Starkey.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held in Mayetta Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
