Patsy Wittenbach 1933-2022
Patsy A. Wittenbach, 88, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Glen Elder, the daughter of Chester W. and Alma M. (Wiese) Barnett.
Patsy graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1951. She lived in Topeka from 1951 to 1957, Holton from 1957 to 1978 and Topeka from 1978 to the present. Patsy worked for 10 years for Fleming Companies in Topeka as an accountant.
She was a member of Glen Elder Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary in Holton and Topeka.
Patsy married Lawrence P. D’Orvilliers; they later divorced. She married Edwin Lloyd Wittenbach on Dec. 29, 1956, in Topeka; he preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2010. They celebrated more than 53 years of marriage.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis D’Orvilliers (Heather) of Grove, Okla., Steve Wittenbach (Reene) of Topeka and Jerry Wittenbach of Topeka; a daughter, Dawn Suzanne “Susie” Lovelady (Tom) of Silver Lake; two sisters, Dianne Ahlvers of Frankfort and Ruthy Sherrer of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Alma Barnett; a son, John D’Orvilliers; an infant sister, Joanne Barnett; and a brother, Bill Barnett.
Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Holton Cemetery.
