Olive McKinney 1935-2022

Olive Agnes McKinney, 86, Lawrence, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at her home with family by her side.

She was born July 14, 1935, in Socrum, Fla., the daughter of David and Easter Agnes Meeks Viers.

Mrs. McKinney was a child care provider and homemaker.

She married James Noonen (Na nim nuk shkuk) McKinney Jr. on July 27, 1954. He died Oct. 24, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dr. Smokey (Na nim nuk shkuk) McKinney, on Oct. 12, 2021.

Survivors include four daughters, Esther “Darlene” Young and husband Rodger, Edgewater, Md., Karen Lynn Kennedy and husband Clyde, Santa Fe, Tenn., Leah Ruth McKinney, Columbia, Mo., and Rebekah Leigh Lierman and husband Richard, Osage Beach, Mo.; a sister, Wanda Snyder, San Antonio, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Prairie Peoples Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
